The Art & Technology of Restorative Dentistry

Boynton Beach and Boca Raton - Digital X-ray Imaging and Other Dental Technology

Dr. Jon Glaser is committed to continuing education, keeping his office and staff on the cutting edge of the dental field, and making full use of the most recent breakthroughs in dental treatment.  Because he is dedicated to bringing his patients the most advanced dental care available, Dr. Glaser uses only the latest and most innovative dental technology in his Boynton Beach and Boca Raton-area office, including digital X-ray imaging, crowns planned and placed in one visit, and intraoral cameras. Using these and other technological advances, the Glaser Dental team can ensure that your dental appointments will be as comfortable and painless as possible.

Digital X-ray Imaging

Digital X-rays offer many advantages over old-fashioned X-ray systems.  Thanks to advances in X-ray technology, radiation exposure is reduced by over 90 percent, increasing both patient safety and staff safety.  The X-ray system in our Boca Raton and Boynton Beach-area office produces digital X-ray images which are instantly available for both patient and staff viewing on a monitor right in your treatment room, so there's no inconvenient wait for developing or use of environmentally-unfriendly toxic chemicals or film. These high-resolution digital images are much more precise than film images and can be enlarged and rotated onscreen while Dr. Glaser discusses them with you, as well as digitally archived for future reference and instantly transmitted to insurance providers.  The high level of detail these digital images provide allows us to plan your dental care more accurately and take into account even the smallest potential dental issues and treat them before they become more problematic.  When cavities, cysts, abscesses, gum disease, bone loss, abnormally positioned teeth below the gumline, and other dental problems are halted early in their development, it may not only save you time and money — it can save your teeth.

If you are or may be pregnant, please inform us before your appointment.  While dental X-rays are performed on the mouth area only, routine X-rays may be postponed until after delivery, or a lead apron may be used to shield the in utero child if X-rays are absolutely necessary.

Intraoral Cameras and Computer Imaging

Using tiny cameras which are inserted inside a patient's mouth, we are able to examine our patients' teeth in closer detail than the human eye allows, so we can catch small problems before they develop into large ones.  The digital images captured by the camera can be seen on a computer monitor right in the treatment area, so the patient can view images of their mouth before the work is started and make informed decisions about their own dental care.

Computer imaging and smile analysis also allow us to take digital photographs of each patient's mouth and simulate what they will look like after treatment, taking into account the shapes of the teeth, face, and mouth.  This smile simulation allows patients to more accurately visualize the results of a particular dental treatment and how it will improve their appearance.

CEREC® Crowns in One Visit

Using the CEREC® system, we can plan and place dental crowns, inlays, onlays, porcelain veneers, and other ceramic restorations in a single appointment.  This  advanced dental technology allows restoration of damaged teeth using a high-quality ceramic material that is matched to the color of the surrounding teeth to create a custom-fitted restoration that is both attractive and fully functional. Computer-Assisted Oral Cancer Screening

We perform computer-assisted testing for patients visiting our office to prescreen for cancers of the mouth. A small brush is lightly rubbed on the inside of the mouth to obtain a specimen which is then sent to a lab where a computer detects any precancerous cells. This accuracy of this screening helps to ensure that any potential problems can be caught early, substantially increasing the chances of successful treatment.

Custom-Built Sterilization Unit

At Glaser Dental, because we are devoted to maintaining the safety of our patients, we go above and beyond to ensure the environment of our office is completely safe and clean at all times.  All instruments are put through a stringent cleaning procedure utilizing our custom-built sterilization unit which surpasses all OSHA requirements. Dental instruments are placed in an ultrasonic tub that removes debris and then dried with heat. The instruments are then placed in our autoclave unit and sterilized under steam pressure at a temperature of over 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

State-of-the-art Dental Chairs

Each of our state-of-the-art dental chairs has its own self-contained water system to help minimize any chances of bacterial contamination.  Our treatment rooms also feature computer screens mounted on each dental chair which are used to display real-time pictures of patients' mouth from our intraoral cameras, examine digital X-ray images, and show movies and TV shows during treatment.
